Global Tech Partners is stoked to be featured in the latest edition of ASIAL’s Security Insider magazine with our article: "Is it time for the security sector to hit Ctrl, Alt, Defend?".
In this feature, our Managing Director, Josh Brown, explains why the security industry has reached a "watershed moment" where merging physical and digital security is no longer optional. This shift is fueled by the rise of autonomous AI threats, highlighted by a landmark event in late 2025 where AI agents executed a large-scale cyberattack with almost no human intervention. As AI "democratizes" hacking by making sophisticated tools available via a single prompt, interconnected systems like CCTV and access control are more exposed than ever.
Brown argues that to stay resilient, physical security providers must treat hardware like traditional IT assets, applying regular patching and continuous monitoring, while integrating cybersecurity into their core offerings. This evolution allows firms to move beyond being hardware vendors to becoming "one-stop-shop" digital partners, turning a defensive necessity into a major business opportunity.
A special thank you goes out to Andrew Cullen for his comment on the topic.
